In August 2022, I had the opportunity to fund a loan via Kiva Rehema, Rehema is committed to sustainable living. I provided funds for Rehema to invest in the ACE One Cooking stove, a decision that significantly lowered her monthly expenses and greatly reduced her environmental impact.

The introduction of the ACE One Cooking stove to her household has been transformative, substantially decreasing pollution and cutting carbon emissions. To date, the stove has saved approximately 0.8723 tonnes of CO2e, equivalent to taking 0.19 cars off the road for a year, and has conserved roughly 0.48 tons of wood fuel, which translates to preserving 3.87 trees from deforestation.

This initiative not only supports the conservation of local habitats, vital for maintaining biodiversity, but also enhances the quality of life by promoting smoke-free cooking. This crucial feature of the ACE One stove helps prevent respiratory diseases, thus safeguarding the health of Rehema and her family and local community.

I am proud to have contributed to Rehema’s sustainable journey through Kiva. This experience underscores the profound impact of environmentally conscious investments on communities and the environment.
